Sandwich Base

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 can tuna (in water or oil, drained)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • ½ small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 celery stalk (finely chopped, optional for crunch)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Melt Layer

  • 1–1.5 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for grilling)
  • Chili flakes or paprika (optional)

🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe

1. Make Tuna Filling

  • In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, onion, and celery
  • Season with salt and black pepper
  • Stir until creamy and well combined

2. Prepare Bread

  • Lightly butter one side of each sourdough slice
  • Place bread butter-side down on a pan or tray

3. Assemble Sandwich

  • On unbuttered side, add tuna mixture evenly
  • Top with generous layer of cheese
  • Close sandwich with another slice of bread (butter side out)

4. Grill the Melt

  • Heat pan on medium-low
  • Cook sandwich 3–4 minutes per side
  • Press gently until bread is golden and cheese melts

5. Finish & Serve

  • Slice diagonally
  • Sprinkle chili flakes or paprika on top
