Step-by-Step Recipe
- Preheat oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan. - Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. - Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, combine sourdough starter, eggs, oil, vanilla extract, and milk. - Combine mixtures
Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until smooth. - Add coffee
Pour in hot coffee and stir gently until the batter becomes thin and silky. - Add chocolate chips (optional)
Fold in chocolate chips for extra richness. - Bake
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. - Cool & serve
